- Кирпич — искусственный камень правильной формы, используемый в качестве строительного материала, произведённый из минеральных материалов, обладающий свойствами камня, прочностью, водостойкостью, морозостойкостью.
- Наиболее известны четыре вида (типа) кирпича:
- саманный — из глины и наполнителя;
- керамический (глиняный, красный) — из обожжённой глины;
- силикатный, состоящий из песка и извести;
- гиперпрессованный.
- На юге и западе России также называется цигель.
